GOOD SHEPHERD KITCHEN is a 12-week training program for young adults looking to get a head start in a culinary career.

Important Information

Good Shepherd Kitchen is a 12-week culinary training program to equip you with the tools to achieve your potential. 

Based out of The Market at Catholic Charities, you’ll learn the skills it takes to work in a kitchen while preparing nutritious meals for clients of The Market. 

Learn in-demand skills and earn your ServSafe Food Handlers Certification and Certificate of Completion to gain employment after graduation. 

  • 12-week program
  • 9am – 2pm Monday – Thursday
  • Cohorts for 2024 are January 15 to April 4, May 6 to July 25, and September 9 to December 7
  • Students will be paid an hourly rate
  • Case management for additional support as needed
  • Job placement assistance upon graduation

Our program teaches you culinary skills to help you succeed in a kitchen as well as life skills to empower you in your career and personal life.

•  Food preparation and cooking methods, including:
   •  dressings, stocks and sauces

•  Professionalism in the workplace
•  Resume building
•  Basic computer skills
•  Personal finance
•  Hear from local guest chefs and visit local kitchens

Computer Literacy Class – Spanish

This is an introductory computer skills class and includes workshops that cover Microsoft Office programs and Google Suite programs. Classes are offered at the Tulsa Campus on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Contact us to enroll.
