Extra SNAP benefit money comes to an end
People using SNAP benefits will no longer receive emergency allotments that offered up more money to spend on food.
Monte Cassino holds annual diaper drive
Monte Cassino School is holding their annual diaper drive for Catholic Charities. Students and staff have donated many boxes already this month. Students were asked to buy specific sized diapers based on their grade.

2020 Volunteer of the Year: Kim Owen
For Kim Owen, problem-solving, innovating and creating are second nature. Retiring as the Vice President of Human Resources at QuikTrip as well as managing rodeos and running a ranch with her husband, Kim is no stranger to leadership. Her unique background was the key to success when Catholic Charities partnered with the USDA Farmers to Families Food Box Program.
ST. ANNE FOOD MINISTRY REACHES OUT TO APARTMENT RESIDENTS
On a dreary gray Saturday in late November, a group from St. Anne Church brought a dose of warmth and sunshine along with food supplies to a Broken Arrow apartment complex.The parishioners made their way through the building, stopping at the doors of residents who indicated a need for food assistance.

Catholic Charities USA announced that Steve Hanlon of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, has been named Volunteer of the Year for 2020.

Over the years, Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma has grown from operating a relatively humble food program into the largest distributor of food to individuals in need in the entire state of Oklahoma. That growth has come because of the incredible commitment of our volunteers, donors, and staff.

Barry Corum reflects on this past year as he sits in an empty warehouse at Catholic Charities’ main campus in North Tulsa. An upcoming renovation project has temporarily moved the food distribution to a warehouse at 59th and Mingo. Hundreds of volunteers alongside Barry stepped up since March of 2020 to serve as many as 400-600 families per day with food.
