Business Analyst

Position Description

The Business Analyst will be responsible for working with program directors and managers to develop, collect, analyze and report monthly outcome measurement (analytics / metrics / trending) in a Catholic setting utilizing program data systems. Additionally, they will drive the budget creation and monthly Budget vs. Actual financial analysis and work with department leaders to identify and resolve any issues. This position will work with the Controller, Chief Financial Officer and other Finance staff to assure timely and accurate results. The Business Analyst participates in strategy discussions at every organizational level and will drive metrics as required to meet the goals and objectives required by Development, Management, program or project.

To accomplish the goal, the Business Analyst will develop an effective understanding of all Catholic Charities programs/departments and their related financial and data systems. The Business Analyst will build effective collaborative relationships with of staff and / or volunteers who will direct our Programs. The Business Analyst works closely with the Finance and Operations team while providing support for the external audit, leading the internal audit function for programs. Volunteers will be leveraged as needed for additional support.


  • Develop & measure results and report outcomes for each program as needed for the Development office and management
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, annually and as needed analysis of financial statements and key metrics including vs. budget and prior year(s) by program/department rolled up as appropriate
  • Manages the budget development and approval process
  • Support a successful audit, improve program procedures and internal controls
  • Participate in strategic planning at all operational levels
  • Work with administration and program leadership to maximize effective reporting from program data systems
  • Comply with policies and procedures that creates a safe and secure environment, aligned with the standards of the Child and Youth Protection Charter

Education & Skill Requirements

  • Requires 5+ years of program, financial and managerial analysis experience
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Business (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing) or Computer Science or related field, master’s degree preferred
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Assertive & strong relational management and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of budget management and reporting
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to lift 20lbs, bend, stoop, sit and stand for long periods of time
