Director of Adult Education and Jobs Program

Position Description

The Catholic Charities Director of Adult Education and Jobs Program will be responsible for the overall program development, administration, and supervision of Adult Education and the Jobs Program in a Catholic setting.

The goal of the Director is to develop career minded, qualified, capable and reliable employees for local businesses.  The Director will be responsible for supporting the launch and operation of all education locations at applicable Eastern Oklahoma Outreach locations by providing the template (e.g., advise, set policy and procedure, define and provide materials, train resources, testing …) and will directly oversee Adult Education at the main Tulsa campus of Catholic Charities while not directly managing personnel or volunteers outside of Tulsa,. 

To accomplish the goal, the Director will develop an effective program and build an effective team of staff and/or volunteers who teach GED, ESL and other designated classes.  The Director will also build an effective team of staff and/or volunteers who will manage and grow our Jobs Program.  The Director ensures the programs are operated adhering to the values of Catholic Social Teachings.

As a ministerial representative of CCEOK it is expected that both professional and social behavior be aligned with the ethical and moral standards of the Catholic Church.


  • Pray daily for the needs of the poor through personal prayer, daily mass, and/or adoration

     Strategy, supervision, development, and execution

  • Set, measure, achieve and expand program goals aligned with the strategic plan
  • Administer tools to effectively evaluate performance, growth and management including outcomes and metrics
  • Manage paid and volunteer staff, evaluate performance and provide formation and training to enhance skills and sense of mission
  • Direct the development of curriculum for classes, lectures, conferences, or other educational materials in order to achieve the student’s educational goals and to experience Christ’s merciful love
  • Coordinate the development of the tools and relationships needed to evaluate Catholic Charities clients for job training and placement
  • Define and implement a broad-based marketing plan under the direction of the Development office.
  • Create functional strategies and specific objectives for the programs and maintains budgets, policies, and procedures that support the infrastructure, including off-campus locations.
  • Establish and maintain community partnerships to support a volunteer workforce.
  • Oversee the training of volunteer staff
  • Oversee childcare, maintaining proper standards of care and protection of children while the parent(s) attend class
  • Some evening, weekend hours, as well as and daily travel will be required

     Monitor, data and reporting

  • Ensure data is entered in the database (LACES or other identified databases), and produce monthly reports as required
  • Monitor and design reports on quality indicators for the programs focusing on staff/volunteers performance and outcomes relevant for grant applications and evaluation of the efficiency of the programs


  • Manage Tulsa Campus staff, including payroll approvals, time-off requests, and annual performance reviews
  • Assure transparency, accountability and responsible financial management of the Programs through monthly reporting as required
  • Policies and Procedures are followed concerning volunteer and employee requirements and onboarding including VIRTUS compliance related to the programs
  • Ensure staffing and volunteer requirements are being met monthly
  • Schedule necessary training for staff, including specialized CC University
  • Ensure the programs are managed and implemented consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church

Professional Qualifications

  • Requires 5+ years of managerial experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
  • Requires a bachelor's degree, master’s degree preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of budget management and reporting
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Experience recruiting and utilizing volunteers
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to lift 20lbs, bend, stoop, sit and stand for long periods of time
