Food Procurement and Distribution Coordinator

Reports to: Distribution Center Manager

Position Description

This full-time, benefited position is responsible for overseeing the food storage, distribution and supervising volunteers and the food pantry operation. Additional responsibilities may include food pick-ups at the Community Food Bank, Catholic Charities Mary Martha Outreach in Bartlesville, and various grocery stores as needed.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Pray daily for the needs of the poor through Mass, Morning Prayer and Adoration.
  • Manage the reception, organization and storage of donated food, rotation of stock and cleanliness of work areas, and weighing donations
  • Train and supervise volunteers and oversee projects for volunteer groups
  • Educate volunteers on the mission, vision and values of Catholic Charities
  • Assist food pantry operation by filling orders, stocking the pantry, produce room, freezer and cooler, and resolving problems as they arise
  • Ensure client dignity and Catholic values are upheld and resolve client issues that may arise
  • Help coordinate seasonal programs and assist with clothing center operation as needed
  • Follow USDA and Health Dept. guidelines
  • Pass forklift operation training and operate safely
  • Pick up food from the Community Food Bank, Catholic Charities Mary Martha Outreach in Bartlesville, and grocery stores, using refrigerated truck <26k lbs.  
  • Additional duties as assigned

  • College degree or related experience

  • Experience building and utilizing leadership volunteers
  • Problem solving and decision making abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • PC literate, Word, Excel, Outlook and internet usage
  • Ability to regularly lift 50lbs, bend, stoop, sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Have forklift certification or become certified within 30 days of employment
