Transitional Living Part-Time Resident Assistant

Position Description

This Resident Assistant position assists with the overall operations of Madonna House, a program for pregnant women and mothers of infants, and St. Elizabeth Lodge, a program for single, working moms, on a part-time basis for any evening shift 4pm to midnight, Saturdays and Sundays 8am to 4pm, or Saturday and Sunday nights from midnight to 8am. The successful candidate will generally commit to a regular schedule (2-3 shifts per week), but will remain flexible to meet the needs of the program.

Key Tasks

  • Pray daily for the needs of the poor, if possible through the Sacrifice of the Mass, morning Prayer, and at adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
  • Handle incoming calls, guests, tours
  • Referrals
  • Monitor resident checkouts and behavior
  • Life skills, support, and coaching to the residents
  • Coordination of milieu
  • Record keeping of all client records and training
  • Assisting with donations and goods
  • Assists with volunteer assignments
  • Mentoring, chaperoning outside activities
  • Coordinating shift changes and transitions
  • Coordinating resident transportation, including driving residents to appointments
  • General cleaning of staff areas and cleaning rooms and apartments for new residents
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds
  • Duties as assigned
