Position Description

This full-time, hourly, benefited position facilitates the transition of women living in Madonna House and St. Elizabeth Lodge into permanent housing by providing coaching and supportive services. This position also develops and implements an external supportive housing program for former residents and client referrals from other CCEOK programs. All work will be done in partnership and collaboration with the Manager of Transitional Living. The work schedule includes day and evening work times as well as some weekends. 

The purpose of Catholic Charities' Transitional Living program is to restore stability, purpose and hope in the lives of single mothers and their children.

Ministerial

  • As a ministerial representative of CCEOK, it is expected that both professional and social behavior be aligned with the ethical and moral standards of the Catholic Church
  • Pray daily for the needs of the poor; opportunities include personal prayer, daily Mass, and/or adoration
  • Willingness to learn how to articulate Catholic teaching with a commitment to its application in the job function
  • Execute duties in a Christ-like manner with love and compassion following the values and principles of the program, Catholic Charities and Catholic Social Teaching

Leadership

  • Provide confidential, one-on-one coaching to CCEOK’s residential clients
  • Periodically assess client health and well-being and provide clients with tools and resources that help them reach and maintain self-sufficiency and stability
  • Build partnerships and interface with external housing programs such as Habitat for Humanity, Tulsa Housing Authority and local landlords
  • Develop and implement an external supportive housing program for former residents and families referred by other CCEOK programs
  • Work with other CCEOK staff to ensure residents have access to and can receive the support and services offered by all CCEOK programs including The Market, Adult Education, Workforce Development and Dental Care 
  • Help families identify and obtain community resources via referrals
  • Assist residents with budgets, debt management, job applications, overcoming housing barriers, housing applications and other needs  
  • Actively participates in all meetings, trainings and professional development opportunities
  • Participates in supervision which will focus on areas of responsibility of the programs and residents’ progress

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or similar preferred 
  • One year of relevant experience preferred 
  • Knowledge of public and federal assistance programs and other community resources and support services 
  • Excellent listening and communication skills 
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills 
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills 
  • Displays sound judgment, integrity, empathy and professionalism, including the ability to protect and maintain confidentiality 
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 
  • Detailed, organized and creative

  • Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation and debriefing in situations of conflict, stress, and trauma
  • Maintain current and complete case notes and records for each resident
  • Input in the resident management software in prompt, concise, factual and consistent manner
  • Assist with hospitality, including answering incoming calls, receiving guests, and conducting tours of Madonna House and St. Elizabeth Lodge
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds 
  • Other related duties as assigned by management
