Important Information

What is St. Elizabeth Lodge?

St. Elizabeth Lodge is a program for single moms and their children who are experiencing a time of transition and need a soft place to fall.  Our families come from situations of eviction, domestic violence, family break-up, couch surfing, or reunification.  All of our families are unique in their circumstances, but all share in experiencing a difficult transition.  Residents at St. Elizabeth Lodge enjoy an apartment to call home, the safety of a secure facility, and the support of others in a similar situation.

Volunteer Opportunities
  • Talking is Teaching - one Thursday per month at 6 pm
  • I Love You Rituals - one Thursday per month at 7 pm. Lead residents in learning rhymes and games that promote bonding from the book by Dr. Becky Bailey. This is a great opportunity for parents who want to volunteer with their children age 0-8 years-old.
  • Children’s Faith Formation - every other Tuesday evening at 7 pm. Assist our Pastoral Care Specialist in bringing the Bible to life for the children of St. Elizabeth Lodge and Madonna House.
  • Childcare - Support our moms as they attend their evening group sessions.  Tuesdays 6:45 pm to 8 pm, Wednesdays 5:45 pm to 8 pm, every third Thursday 6:45 pm to 8 pm. Moms attend Moral Reasoning Group, Faith Formation, and Parenting groups during these times.
  • Volunteer Care Assistant. The Care Assistant does it all: answer phones, screen guests, assist residents, babysit, receive donations, take residents to appointments, etc. Bring Christ’s merciful love to life as a volunteer Care Assistant.
  • Meals for Moms - provide a Sunday evening meal for the residents of Madonna House or St. Elizabeth Lodge.  Meals provide the opportunity for residents to enjoy fellowship with one another.
  • Christmas Sponsorship - Sponsor a Madonna House resident or St. Elizabeth Lodge family for Christmas. Wish list will be provided.
  • Advent and Christmas Committee - Do you just love Christmas? Help our residents celebrate the season by planning, finding sponsors, decorating, cooking, or serving.
