Case Manager – Refugee Resettlement

Position Description

This full-time, hourly, benefited role assists Special Immigrant Visas and refugee families in attaining self-sufficiency in their new communities by providing basic needs and a core group of services upon arrival. The Case Manager is responsible for all aspects of service delivery to refugee individuals and families.

The purpose of Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement program is to provide a dignified path to self-sufficiency for refugees resettling in northeastern Oklahoma as designated by the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program and outlined in the U.S. State Department’s Cooperative Agreement.


  • As a ministerial representative of CCEOK, it is expected that both professional and social behavior be aligned with the ethical and moral standards of the Catholic Church
  • Pray daily for the needs of the poor; opportunities include personal prayer, daily Mass, and/or adoration
  • Willingness to learn how to articulate Catholic teaching with a commitment to its application in the job function
  • Build a common culture of ministry and management/program operations


  • Completes core services as specified in Cooperative Agreement which includes home visits, initial intake interviews, service goal plans, needs assessments and cultural orientation, and assists in the enrollment of refugee children in appropriate school and educational programs
  • Conducts all services in a culturally appropriate manner
  • Arranges for and utilizes appropriate interpretation and/or translation services as needed
  • Communicates as necessary with third parties, such as employers, school officials and other social service staff on behalf of the clients
  • Assists in the transportation of clients to core service appointments. This includes transporting clients utilizing a personal or agency vehicle in a personal or agency vehicle
  • Keeps timely case notes, maintains financial documentation, and conducts periodic file maintenance in a confidential and accurate manner
  • Actively participates in team meetings and required training centered on trauma-informed case management, PC-specific vulnerability support, community-based mental health support, economic self-sufficiency and more
  • Complies with all agency and program policies and processes as well as federal, state, and funding requirements
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management


  • High school diploma; at least 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; a bachelor’s degree in a related social service field is preferred
  • Familiarity with U.S. Refugee Admission Program and refugee and/or immigrant social services is preferred  
  • Fluency in Dari, Pashto, Spanish, Burmese, or Zomi is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication, listening, and presentation skills
  • Strong, flexible interpersonal skills required to interact effectively with clients, co-workers, and volunteers
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills are required to ensure that multiple tasks receive adequate and timely attention
  • Able to maintain records, gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
  • Self-motivated and takes pride in the quality of work with the ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner
  • Ability to use independent judgment in making decisions within the guidelines of the organization
