Position Description
This full-time, benefited position oversees the Refugee Resettlement and Preferred Communities grants by managing the overall coordination and delivery of services to refugees. The Refugee Resettlement Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with the requirements and performance standards established for all refugee programs and overseeing Refugee Resettlement staff.
The Refugee Resettlement Program, as an affiliate of The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) national resettlement agency, assists individuals and families displaced from their homeland due to the fear of persecution based on reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, and/or political opinion. The services offered through this program address a wide array of needs, ranging from initial resettlement to intensive case management, and promote successful integration into United States society while maintaining the respect and dignity of each individual and their unique culture and traditions
Ministerial
- As a ministerial representative of CCEOK, it is expected that both professional and social behavior be aligned with the ethical and moral standards of the Catholic Church
- Pray daily for the needs of the poor; opportunities include personal prayer, daily Mass, and adoration
- Willingness to learn how to articulate Catholic teaching with a commitment to its application in the job function
- Execute duties in a Christ-like manner with love and compassion following the values and principles of the program, Catholic Charities and Catholic Social Teaching
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a clear understanding and knowledge of state and federal grants/contracts related to refugee programs, ensuring compliance with all policies, guidelines, and outcomes
- Directly oversee and manage the refugee resettlement and preferred communities programs, including creating and managing budgets, ensuring timely submission of all reports, and meeting program outcomes and outputs
- Supervise resettlement staff including hiring, training, managing performance, coaching, and support
- Serve as the main link between CCEOK and the national resettlement agency, USCCB
- Promote teamwork, monitor and coordinate direct service staff workload, delegate responsibilities, and hold staff accountable for compliance with state and federal policies
- Collaborate with the Senior Director to develop, plan, and implement policies and procedures for refugee programs and services
- Monitor and manage the financial requirements of the program, working closely with the Accounting Department to ensure accuracy and program compliance
- Represent Catholic Charities in the community and cultivate programmatic relationships with other organizations, continuously improving programs and services in response to needs identified by clients and the community

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work and/or Public Administration or equivalent lived and/or worked experience required
- At least 5 years experience managing social service-related programs, including experience with staff supervision, program development, and budgeting
- Experience managing multiple federal and/or state contracts
- Outstanding leadership skills with 2-3 years supervisory experience showing progression (preferred)
- Demonstrated competency working with and supervising people from diverse cultures
- Demonstrated knowledge of community resources, social service systems, and community partners
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which will include some evenings and weekends
- Travel in the Tulsa metro area; occasional out-of-state, overnight travel is required
- Must have a driver’s license and reliable transportation

- The Refugee Resettlement program is “predictably unpredictable”; The ability to adapt to changing circumstances is essential to success in this role
