Manager of Adult Education

Job Type: Ministerial

Reports to: Senior Director

Position Description

This full-time benefited position will be responsible for the development, administration, and supervision of the Catholic Charities Adult Education program. The goal is to fulfill the mission, vision, and goals by building an effective team of staff, volunteers, and third-party partnerships. The position will oversee daily operations, including policy, curriculum, purchasing, technology, and other long- and short-term planning tasks at all Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma locations with education programs.

Ministerial

  • As a ministerial representative of CCEOK, it is expected that both professional and social behavior be aligned with the ethical and moral standards of the Catholic Church
  • Pray daily for the needs of the poor; opportunities include personal prayer, daily Mass, and/or adoration
  • Willingness to learn how to articulate Catholic teaching with a commitment to its application in the job function
  • Execute duties in a Christ-like manner with love and compassion following the values and principles of the program, Catholic Charities and Catholic Social Teaching

 

Leadership

  • Motivate, lead and inspire staff and volunteers to accomplish the program’s vision and goals
  • Supervise all staff. Responsible for hiring and training employees, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees and problem resolution
  • Implement the strategic plan within the program
  • Build a common culture of ministry within the program
  • Ensure a safe environment for our students and maintain VIRTUS compliance

 

Adult Education 

  • Direct the development of curriculum for classes (including training, books, and assessments) to achieve the student’s goals and to experience Christ’s merciful love
  • Manage volunteers, students, annual calendars and class schedules for Tulsa and outreach locations with education programs
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other CC sites with education programs
  • Serve as Chief Examiner for HiSET, maintain compliance as an official testing center and ensure proper credentials for examiner and proctor
  • Ensure data is entered into the student database (LACES) in a timely and accurate way
  • Administer tools to effectively evaluate students’ performance and gains as well as overall outcomes and metrics for the management of the program
  • Ensure prospective student lists, enrolled student data, and class rosters are up to date 

 

Budgeting and Reporting 

  • Provide input to the Sr. Director and other CCEOK management for the annual budget
  • Assure proper financial management of the program through timely submissions of receipts, review of monthly reports, and adhering to the approved budget
  • Oversee the collection of receipts and financial procedures
  • Manage grant compliance and research new funding opportunities with the Development office
  • Assure program success by defining and measuring outcomes in collaboration with the Sr. Director and team members
  • Work closely with the Sr. Director and Director of Program Analytics to track relevant data, complete required reports, and establish and communicate procedures 

 

Community Engagement 

  • Maintain and build community partnerships to recruit new students and volunteers
  • Represent program at community functions
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations to build capacity and provide resources to our students

 

Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications 

  • 3+ years of managerial experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Effective communicator (written and verbal)
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Flexible and patient
