Manager – Adult Education

Position Description

This full-time, benefited position provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and program development for Catholic Charities Adult Education Program—including English as a Second Language (ESL), HiSET, and life-skills classes. The Manager of Adult Education builds and sustains an effective team of staff, volunteers, and community partners dedicated to student success.

This position is responsible for program administration across all Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma sites, ensuring curriculum excellence, volunteer and staff development, policy implementation, data integrity, and alignment with organizational mission and goals. This role requires a leader who can balance daily operational management with long-term strategic vision in a mission-driven, faith-centered environment.

Ministerial

  • As a ministerial representative of CCEOK, maintain professional and personal conduct that aligns with the ethical and moral standards of the Catholic Church
  • Pray daily for the needs of the poor through personal prayer, daily Mass, and/or adoration
  • Be willing to learn and apply Catholic teaching in this role
  • Help foster a shared culture of ministry across program operations and management

 

 Leadership

  • Champion the vision of the Adult Education program by aligning daily operations with long-term strategic goals and the core values of Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma
  • Inspire, empower, and lead staff and volunteers to pursue the program’s mission with purpose, collaboration, and excellence
  • Oversee all program staff, including hiring, training, task delegation, performance evaluation, recognition, corrective action, and conflict resolution.
  • Execute the program’s strategic plan, ensuring initiatives are implemented effectively and in alignment with organizational priorities
  • Direct the development of curriculum for classes (including training, books, and assessments) to achieve the student’s goals and to experience Christ’s merciful love
  • Exemplify the qualities of an ideal team player—demonstrating humility, a strong work ethic, and a spirit of collaboration to foster collective success
  • Cultivate a shared culture of ministry within the program, grounded in compassion, service, and the mission of Catholic Charities
  • Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students and ensures full compliance with VIRTUS standards and training requirements

 

Program Administration

  • Oversee scheduling, calendars, and class logistics for Tulsa and outreach locations
  • Ensure student data, including attendance and performance, is entered and maintained accurately in LACES
  • Implement and monitor evaluation tools to measure student performance, program outcomes, and overall impact
  • Ensure accurate prospective student lists, enrollment records, and class rosters
  • Provide regular program reports, updates, and recommendations to the Director and leadership team

 

Budget Management/Fund Sourcing 

  • Provide input to the Senior Director and CCEOK leadership in the development of the annual program budget
  • Ensure proper financial management through timely submission of receipts, review of reports, and adherence to budgetary guidelines
  • Oversee program purchasing, financial procedures, and compliance with internal controls
  • Partner with the Development Office to ensure grant compliance, prepare required reports, and identify new funding opportunities
  • Define and track program outcomes in collaboration with the Director and the Director of Program Analytics

 

Community Outreach

  • Provide clear communication and direction for all outreach locations supporting Adult Education
  • Monitor program effectiveness, success rates, and retention trends for students and volunteers at each site
  • Partner with the Director to identify and assess potential new class locations to meet community needs

 

Community Engagement

  • Maintain and build strong community partnerships to recruit students and volunteers
  • Represent the Adult Education Program at community functions and events as needed
  • Develop and sustain partnerships with external organizations to expand resources and opportunities for students.
  • Promote Catholic Charities and the Adult Education program in the community through professional, mission-aligned engagement

 

Performs other duties as assigned to advance the success of students, staff, and the program.

 

Qualifications/Education

  • Minimum of three years of proven managerial or leadership experience with demonstrated success in program oversight and team supervision
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational and strategic thinking skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptable across varied audiences
  • Proficiency in a variety of computer systems and software applications; willingness to learn and implement new technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to set and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data to inform decisions
  • Skilled in performance management, including goal setting, coaching, and constructive feedback
  • Creative and collaborative problem-solver who fosters shared ownership and mission alignment
