Position Description
This full-time, benefited position plays a key role in supporting the Adult Education Program at Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma. Working collaboratively in a team environment, the individual in this role manages a broad range of administrative functions and volunteer coordination responsibilities to ensure effective volunteer engagement and program delivery. In addition to overseeing day-to-day volunteer operations, this position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage the broader community, foster partnerships, and promote the mission of Adult Education. This includes strengthening existing collaborations and proactively reaching out to parishes throughout the diocese. The position is primarily scheduled during daytime hours, with occasional evening and weekend commitments required for events. Holidays are excluded.

Ministerial
- As a ministerial representative of CCEOK, both professional and personal conduct must align with the ethical and moral standards of the Catholic Church
- Pray daily for the needs of the poor through personal prayer, daily Mass, and/or adoration
- Be willing to learn and apply Catholic teaching in your role
- Help foster a shared culture of ministry across program operations and management

Volunteer Engagement
- Recruits, engages, and retains volunteers for the main campus and outreach education sites to maintain standard volunteer numbers and provide supplemental coverage
- Collaborates with Adult Education staff to identify and develop potential volunteers, enhancing their experience within the program
- Facilitates volunteer onboarding and placement within the Adult Education program
- Supports and trains new and existing teachers to ensure their success in teaching roles
- Manages and prioritizes communications—including phone calls, emails, messages, and mail—from internal and external contacts related to Adult Education volunteering
- Serves as the primary point of contact for education volunteers, maintaining comprehensive knowledge of program operations, staff, schedules, policies, and procedures
- Maintains the volunteer calendar and updates the Volgistics database to ensure accurate tracking of volunteer hours
- Regularly communicates with volunteers to foster a sense of appreciation and integration within the team
- Assists the program manager in coordinating volunteer orientations, trainings, and appreciation events
- Collaborates with the Volunteer Engagement office to align and coordinate volunteer efforts
Outreach
- In partnership with department manager, maintains and builds relationships with local organizations and Catholic parishes to establish new sites for program offerings
- Becomes the point of contact for volunteers at the new program sites, regularly communicating and providing support for volunteers
Community Engagement
- Represents the Adult Education team as needed in all volunteer related functions
- Networks within the community to bring new talent and mission-minded individuals to serve in the program
Qualifications/Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; experience in lieu of degree will be considered
- Experience in volunteer management, education, human resources, professional recruitment or training a plus
- Interpersonal skills with strong problem solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service and presentation skills; must be comfortable with public speaking and giving constructive feedback to volunteers
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to precision and thoroughness in all tasks
- Must be proficient in using computer systems and software
- Self-motivated, pride in quality of work, ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner
- Ability to use independent judgement in making decisions within guidelines of the organization
- Ability to lift 20 lbs., bend, stoop, sit and stand for long periods of time
- Willing to perform duties outside of the job description
