Position Description

This part-time, nonbenefited position plays a key role in providing support functions and services related to the Adult Education program and are varied in scope as outlined below.  All tasks and responsibilities will follow all organizational policies and procedures while doing so in a Christ-like manner with love and compassion following the values and principles of Catholic Charities and of Catholic Social Teaching. Ability to work afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends.

As a ministerial representative of CCEOK it is expected that both professional and social behavior be aligned with the ethical and moral standards of the Catholic Church.

Tasks:

  • Pray daily for the needs of the poor through personal prayer, daily Mass, and/or adoration
  • Strategy, development, and execution
    • Assist students in the enrollment process
    • Conduct student HiSET diagnostic assessments, grading, and provide class placement
    • Administer pre-testing and post-testing to effectively evaluate student’s performance
    • Act as proctor during HiSET exams throughout the year – day, evening, and weekend exams
    • Prepare HiSET exam materials in advance of testing
    • Organize and mail off HiSET exam materials in a timely manner
    • Assist with tracking HiSET inventory, testing fees, receipt submission as needed
    • Assist with Volunteer Orientation(s)
    • Support volunteer instructors with classroom needs
    • Assist with Graduation preparations and day-of activities
    • Answer department phone and answer emails
    • Support Outreach sites with administrative, enrollment, and testing, as needed
    • Assist students at the front desk during the evening, as needed
  • Monitor, data and reporting
    • Utilize LACES for data entry of demographics, attendance, test scores, etc.
  • Accountability 
    • Ensure policies and procedures are followed concerning volunteer and childcare requirements including VIRTUS compliance
    • Follow policies and procedures concerning finance and facilities
    • Achieve measurable program and individual goals as mutually agreed
    • Ensure the program is implemented consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church
    • Duties as assigned

Education & Skill Requirements

  • Requires a High School diploma, Associates degree preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Strong relational management, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem solving and planning skills 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Night and weekend involvement in the program will be required
  • Ability to lift 20lbs, bend, stoop, sit and stand for long periods of time
