Reports to: Manager of Workforce Development

Position Description

This full-time benefited position is responsible for assisting individuals in achieving their career goals through mentorship, job-readiness skills training, and job placement services. The position will collaborate with the Workforce Development team to support the Culinary Training and Car Care Clinic trainees. 

Ministerial

  • As a ministerial representative of CCEOK, it is expected that both professional and social behavior be aligned with the ethical and moral standards of the Catholic Church 
  • Pray daily for the needs of the poor; opportunities include personal prayer, daily Mass, and/or adoration
  • Willingness to learn how to articulate Catholic teaching with a commitment to its application in the job function

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Motivate, lead and inspire staff and volunteers to accomplish the program’s vision and goals 
  • Support a common culture of ministry within the program 
  • Collaborate with the Workforce Development team to develop a scope of services that supports program trainees  
  • Collaborate amongst CCEOK programs to provide a scope of services that supports their client’s career goals, with an emphasis on the Adult Education, Immigration Legal Services and Refugee Resettlement programs 
  • Collaborate with key community partners to share about CCEOK’s job training programs as well as stay up to date with partners’ job training programs to identify opportunities for clients and agency partnership 

Career Guidance 

  • Provide individual assessment of a client's skills and aptitudes allowing them to discern their career path 
  • Identify and provide guidance to clients regarding educational and job training pathways 
  • Develop a customized educational and/or employment plan for each client 
  • Assist clients with a full range of job preparation activities including preparing resumes, drafting cover letters, practicing interviews, and applying for jobs  
  • Provide job retention to support clients once placed in a job to ensure long-term success  
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers to ensure job placement success  

Data Management 

  • Maintain accurate records of client progress – services provided, outstanding issues to be addressed, and outcomes 
  • Generate reports to evaluate program success and provide outcomes to stakeholders

Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • 1-3 years of experience in social services required, vocational guidance preferred 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to build relationships with program participants, colleagues, and external partners 
  • Knowledge of career readiness skills or workforce programs  
  • Ability to work with individuals of a diverse background 
  • Ability to utilize data to develop and track program success 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a changing environment 
  • Computer proficiency including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Office 365
