Position Description
This part-time, non-benefited position oversees the childcare provided for education clients and oversees volunteer childcare assistant(s), when present.
s a ministerial representative of CCEOK, it is expected that both professional and social behavior be aligned with the ethical and moral standards of the Catholic Church.
Key Tasks
- Pray daily for the needs of the poor; opportunities include personal prayer, daily Mass, and/or adoration
- Oversee children in a multi-age classroom by engaging in enrichment activities, games, and wholesome, values-based entertainment
- Maintain proper standards of care and protection of children and notify parents, in class, if an issue arises
- Ensure safety of all children including proper registration and check-in and check-out procedures
- Communicate and enforce rules of childcare area to parents
- Monitor children’s general welfare (bruises, injuries, nutrition, cleanliness, etc.) and report problems promptly and appropriately
- Maintain cleanliness of the childcare area - sanitize tables, chairs, and toys regularly
- Organize the childcare area – art materials and supplies, inspect toys and discard broken toys immediately
- Guides childcare volunteers, when present
- Other duties as assigned to support the Education department
- Comply with policies and procedures that creates a safe and secure environment, aligned with the standards of the Child and Youth Protection Charter
Key Skills
- Ability to lift 20 lbs., bend, stoop, sit and stand for long periods of time
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
- CPR and infant CPR certified
- Babysitter certification through Red Cross or other preferred
- First aid training preferred
