Position Description

This full-time, benefited position is responsible for developing an outcome-based program that connects job seekers and employers today, while also preparing individuals for jobs tomorrow, by managing the skills-based apprenticeship programs (Culinary Training and Car Care Clinic) and coordinating other life-skills training such as resume writing, interview skills, GED assistance, etc. Responsibilities include the direction, personnel administration, program management, reporting, fiscal planning and monitoring, staff training; logistics, business operation, compliance and risk management for assigned programs.

Direct Reports: 2 program instructors/coordinators and related volunteers

Ministerial

  • As a ministerial representative of CCEOK it is expected that both professional and social behavior be aligned with the ethical and moral standards of the Catholic Church.
  • Pray daily for the needs of the poor; opportunities include personal prayer, daily Mass, and/or adoration.
  • Understanding of Catholic Social Teaching with a commitment to its application in the job function.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Motivate, lead and inspire staff and volunteers to accomplish the program’s vision and goals
  • Oversee aspects of personnel management including annual evaluations, to supervise, guide, mentor, instruct, correct, admonish, appreciate and praise direct staff.
  • Interface between team staff/volunteers and other CCEOK managers/directors / administrative leadership to responsibly communicate relevant and appropriate information
  • Continually assess the need for workforce development services in Eastern Oklahoma as well as the needs of those we serve and mold program activities to meet those needs
  • Implement the strategic plan within the program
  • Build a common culture of ministry within the program

Workforce Development (Culinary Training Program and Mechanic Training Program)

  • Develop an outcomes-based program that provides clients with the appropriate pathways and assistance to gain upward economic mobility
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with diverse stakeholders including local employers, educational institutions, and partner agencies that will achieve program outcomes
  • Establish collaborative projects with educational institutions that provide work opportunities and internships at CCEOK
  • Facilitate cross-program engagement to work on long-term plan of care for clients to find success in their job journey, addressing barriers and identifying solutions along the way
  • Develop and implement a method to assess a client’s skills and aptitudes allowing them to discern their career path
  • Develop and maintain an inventory of job training programs, certifications, scholarship opportunities, etc.
  • Develop and maintain a network of job placement resources and opportunities
  • Maintain relationships with employers and clients to ensure the proper fit
  • Develop and implement job readiness resources
  • Recruit volunteers to assist with car repairs, culinary training, life-skills training and various support roles
  • Assess job training needs of the community and develop new job training programs in partnership with senior management

Car Care Clinic (New Initiative)

  • Expand Car Care Clinic services with new volunteers
  • Develop a plan for the scope of work on vehicles
  • Coordinate across programs to serve existing clients
  • Investigate mechanic job training programs and develop the program within the Car Care Clinic

Budgeting and Reporting

  • Develop and provide input to the Sr. Director and other CCEOK management for the annual budget
  • Responsible for monitoring funding sources and expenses
  • Manage grant compliance and research new funding opportunities with the Development office
  • Assure program success by defining and measuring outcomes in collaboration with the Sr. Director and team members
  • Work closely with the Sr. Director and Director of Program Analytics to track relevant data, complete required reports, establish and communicate procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Management experience preferred
  • Ability to lead teams and work in context with the larger organization as a whole
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Able to lift 30 pounds
