Position Description

This part-time position assists with the overall operations of Madonna House and St. Elizabeth Lodge and helps support the needs of residents and their families. Requires overnight shifts, including weekends.

The purpose of Catholic Charities' Transitional Living program is to restore stability, purpose and hope in the lives of single mothers and their children.

Ministerial

  • As a ministerial representative of CCEOK, it is expected that both professional and social behavior be aligned with the ethical and moral standards of the Catholic Church
  • Pray daily for the needs of the poor; opportunities include personal prayer, daily Mass, and/or adoration
  • Willingness to learn how to articulate Catholic teaching with a commitment to its application in the job function
  • Execute duties in a Christ-like manner with love and compassion following the values and principles of the program, Catholic Charities and Catholic Social Teaching

Leadership

  • Assist with the supportive implementation of individual treatment plans for clients
  • Encourage positive relationship building in a safe environment
  • Support and assist team members, and residents in crises
  • Effectively and professionally manage relationships with residents, staff, and volunteers
  • Maintain an emotionally and physically safe and trauma-informed working environment
  • Maintain confidentiality of all aspects and operations of Madonna House and St. Elizabeth Lodge
  • Supports the development of effective communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
  • Maintain, collect, and record client interactions, activity, and training
  • Clean general living areas and prepare rooms/apartments for new residents
  • Attend required/recommended training and professional development
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience in residential, housing, or transitional living program preferred
  • Relationship management and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Calm and objective in crises
  • Sensitive to the issues and needs of women from diverse backgrounds
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • PC literate, Word, Excel, Outlook and internet usage
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain confidential information and records
  • Professional and positive approach
