Reports to: Director of Volunteer Engagement
Position Description
This part-time position is responsible for supporting the Director of Volunteer Engagement by handling administrative tasks, planning, scheduling training, and communications to ensure the effective implementation of volunteer programs. The Volunteer Engagement program is grounded in Catholic faith and social teaching. Volunteers are valued for their compassion and service to help provide consistent and more in-depth services for people in need.
Ministerial
- As a ministerial representative of CCEOK, it is expected that both professional and social behavior be aligned with the ethical and moral standards of the Catholic Church
- Pray daily for the needs of the poor; opportunities include personal prayer, daily Mass, and/or adoration
- Willingness to learn how to articulate Catholic teaching with a commitment to its application in the job function
- Build a common culture of ministry and management/program operations
Leadership & Administration
- Support the Director by handling administrative tasks that strengthen the oversight and coordination of volunteer program operations
- Coordinate and administratively support the Director with volunteer management training and retreats for supervisors and program leaders
- Provide administrative, scheduling, communication, follow-up and in-person support to the Director by working with program coordinators and leaders to engage and retain recurring volunteers
- Other duties as assigned
Outreach & Partnership Development
- Assist with external events/meetings to recruit volunteers throughout Eastern Oklahoma through the Catholic community, as well as other local churches and organizations
Volunteer Coordination
- Partner with the Director to recruit and develop leadership volunteers, establishing clear roles and responsibilities that enhance service delivery and elevate the volunteer experience
Qualifications, Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in non-profit management, Catholic ministry or related field preferred
- At least three years of volunteer experience or administrative support
- Experience with database software preferred (Volgistics, Blackbaud)
Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook and social media
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professionalism
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, responsibilities, and meet deadlines
- Team player who can support the Volunteer Engagement Team and CCEOK Team
- Flexibility regarding work schedule; evening and weekend activities are necessary
