Reports to: Director of Volunteer Engagement
Position Description
This part-time, non-benefited position is responsible for designing, growing, and sustaining meaningful volunteer opportunities for children and youth under the age of 18 (elementary through high school) and their families as outlined in the current CCEOK Strategic Plan. This role builds early service engagement pathways that align with Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma’s mission, values and commitment to forming compassionate servant leaders.
This position collaborates across CCEOK programs and with community schools, parishes, homeschool cooperatives and community partners to ensure youth volunteer experiences are safe, age-appropriate, mission-centered, and impactful.

Ministerial
- As a ministerial representative of CCEOK, both professional and personal conduct must align with the ethical and moral standards of the Catholic Church
- Pray daily for the needs of the poor through personal prayer, daily Mass, and/or adoration
- Be willing to learn and apply Catholic teaching in your role
- Help foster a shared culture of ministry across program operations and management
Youth & Family Volunteer Program Development
- Work directly with the Volunteer Group Coordinator to design and implement age-appropriate volunteer opportunities for children, youth and families that support CCEOK programs and services
- Create tiered volunteer pathways for elementary, middle school and high school participants, including family-based service opportunities
- Collaborate with CCEOK program leaders to identify volunteer roles that are safe, meaningful and developmentally appropriate for minors
Outreach & Partnership Development
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, parishes, youth groups, homeschool networks and community organizations to increase youth volunteer participation
- Represent CCEOK at community events, school fairs, parish gatherings and outreach activities related to youth service
Volunteer Coordination & Compliance
- Ensure all youth volunteer activities comply with organizational policies, risk management standards, and child safety requirements (CYP and Virtus)
- Coordinate parental consent, waivers, background check requirements and supervision standards
- Work closely with the Volunteer Engagement team to ensure volunteers are appropriately trained, supervised, and supported
- Model and promote CCEOK’s mission, Catholic identity and commitment to serving individuals of all backgrounds with dignity and respect
Special Projects & Organizational Support
- Assist with seasonal events, large-scale service days, and special volunteer projects
- Support broader Volunteer Engagement program initiatives as assigned by the Director of Volunteer Engagement
Qualifications, Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in education, church ministry, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of two years of experience working with youth, families, volunteers, or community engagement programs
- Experience coordinating programs involving minors preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational, planning and relationship-building skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse community partners
- Knowledge of child safety, risk management, and youth engagement best practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and database systems and ability to learn volunteer management platforms
- Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism and ethical and moral conduct
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout program sites and community locations
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Evening and weekend work will be required to support youth service events and family volunteer activities
