Graphic Designer

Reports to: Director of Marketing & Public Relations

Position Description

This position will work closely with the Director of Marketing & PR to design and create both print and digital media for Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma and Porta Caeli House. This includes materials for marketing, signage, events and other internal needs. The perfect candidate could work either part-time or on a contract basis, based on the mutual needs of the candidate and the organization, for an estimated 20 hours per week. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Pray daily for the needs of the poor; opportunities include personal prayer, daily Mass and/or adoration
  • Create graphics, layouts and designs for marketing, signage, events and internal needs
  • Ensure that all layouts and graphics designs conform to established brand standards of the organization while maintaining a high level of quality and visual appeal
  • Adhere to all relevant copyright law in the use and creation of products for the organization
  • Interpret and communicate effectively the mission of Catholic Charities
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in design using Adobe Creative Suite products (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop required; After Effects and Premiere Pro a plus) and Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent written communication and organizational skills
  • Thoughtful receiver of constructive critique with ability to objectively process feedback to effectively evolve conversations and design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to clearly present ideas in all stages of design process
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Understanding of social media and its impact
  • Understanding of print production a plus
  • Willingness to learn how to articulate Catholic teaching with a commitment to its application in the job function
