TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — Catholic Charities Tulsa will welcome a group of refugees Tuesday before President Donald Trump’s new immigration order goes into effect Thursday.
Eight refugees from Myanmar will arrive at Tulsa International Airport around 8:45 p.m.
Catholic Charities initially thought this was the last group they would receive before Trump’s 120-day refugee halt but learned earlier Tuesday the State Department said any bookings made before 12:01 a.m. March 16 can travel to the U.S. by March 30. Eight more refugees are believed to be coming before the March 30 deadline but the group has received no other information about the arrivals.
