TULSA, Okla. — Former Delaware Governor and White House Operation Allies Welcome Coordinator, Jack Markell, spoke during a press conference Friday afternoon in Tulsa. 

The White House’s point person for Afghan refugee resettlement says the “Oklahoma standard” has quickly become a model for all 200-plus U.S. cities currently taking in those displaced by the American withdrawal.

The White House coordinator helping oversee Afghan refugee resettlement across America was in Tulsa Friday and said he is impressed with how the process is going here.

South Tulsa Baptist — in partnership with Catholic Charities, which is heading up the overall resettlement effort — has been in charge of welcoming Afghan refugees at Tulsa Airport since arrivals began in September.
